Covid 19 Information 

Following government guidance we’ve reviewed our working practices and carried out a risk assessment to make Jackdaw’s Perch holiday cottage as safe as possible for guests and staff.

If you're interested in booking the cottage, or already have a booking for later in the year, here's some information about the changes we have made:

What have we done to control the risk?

  • To ensure we have time for a full deep clean, we are leaving 72 hours between guests staying. This means if you book a stay, you can be reassured that the only people who have been on the premises in the last 3 days were there to clean and maintain the cottage

  • We’ve removed cushions and throws from the living room and bedrooms

  • Our cleaning regime includes using appropriate products for surfaces which are regularly touched by guests, this includes:

    • Keys and key safe

    • Remote controls, light switches and door handles

    • Stair handrail

  • We’ve made extra cleaning materials, sanitising hand gel, disposable gloves and disposable cloths available for guests

  • As well as the paper ‘Welcome’ file available to guests, we have created an e-version which can be accessed using the free WiFi in the cottage

What can guests do to control the risk?

  • We expect guests to follow government guidelines with regards to social distancing when out and about in the local area

  • Where possible food can be ordered for delivery or click and collect to minimise contact – details of local shops are included in our Welcome Pack

  • If guests prefer, they could choose to bring their own bedding and towels, contact us before your stay to discuss details

  • If you use our bedding and towels, we will leave plastic laundry bags, and ask that guests kindly strip the beds and bag up the laundry before they leave – reducing any risk to our cleaning staff


Anybody who is exhibiting symptoms or who has any reason to believe they may have come into contact with the virus up to 14 days prior to their booking must follow the Government instruction to self-isolate and follow NHS guidelines.  They should inform us and not arrive at the cottage. 

If you develop symptoms while staying in the cottage, please inform us and follow the relevant Government guidance around self-isolation.

Booking Information

Due to ever changing Government guidelines/restrictions regarding holiday accommodation, we want to reassure guests that a full refund will be provided for any cancellation made as a result of the restrictions in place, either in the cottage location or the guests home location. As much notice as possible should be provided.
