Jackdaw’s Perch is a two-bedroom Victorian terraced cottage with beautiful views across rural County Durham.
The cottage is located in a quiet village close to Bishop Auckland and the Durham Dales.

If you're not sure what to do during your stay, here are a few ideas.

Kynren
The spectacular outdoor live-action show is located around two miles from the cottage 'An epic tale of England'.

Cycling
It's less than eight miles to the Hamsterley Forest mountain bike trails, and near to some of the highest road climbs in England, we are perfectly placed for your cycling break.
We have a secure building where you can store your bikes.

Local Events
There's plenty happening year-round. Annual events include the Miners' Gala and Brass Festival, Durham Book Festival and Bishop Auckland Food Festival.

Art, Culture & History
History fans are spoilt here; we've got Roman forts, castles, Durham Cathedral, and industrial heritage.
The Mining Art Gallery is close by, or travel a little further to get to Bowes Museum or The Sage in Gateshead.

Food & Shopping
There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants, tea shops and an ice-cream parlour. Shopping options range from the Metro Centre to antiques and vintage shops locally.

Outdoors
The cottage is in an ideal location for walkers, close to the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are plenty of walks and nature reserves nearby. The cottage is dog-friendly so you can bring your dog on a break too.
Cottage Facilities
Village
In the small village of North Bitchburn, the pub is a minute's walk away and a five-minute walk gets you to the local ice-cream parlour & café.
Outside
There's a sunny front garden with a beautiful view of the local countryside. You can store bikes in the secure outhouse and there's a public playing field located behind the cottage.

Transport
There's space to park outside the cottage, as well as a handy bus stop. There's a railway station in nearby Bishop Auckland.

Upstairs
The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and en suite shower room. The second bedroom can be arranged with one king-sized bed or twin beds , and also has its own shower room.

Dog Friendly
One well-behaved dog can stay in the cottage, providing they bring a human to supervise. A dog bed and bowls are available.

Downstairs
The cottage has a cosy kitchen-diner and living room. Across the yard you'll find a handy utility room. Free Wi-fi is provided.
